Emily is now eating green beans along with her rice cereal. Wow, it has got to be yummy to have some sense of real food for the first time in your life. She was not really a fan of green beans on the first day, but she is doing much better now and opens her mouth when I bring the spoon close. As a mom, I have mixed feelings about this beginning stage of eating solids -- it is so much fun to watch them learn and grow and enjoy eating, but it sure makes things more complicated than just nursing 5 times a day, but look at her... she loves it (so I guess I do to)!
I love her smile in this first picture. She reminds me of my Grandma Lorelei - Emily's Great-Grandma (who also has Ruth as her middle name).
