Kansas City Zoo Trip

During our trip to Kansas City to see Great-Grandma, we also took 1/2 day to visit the Kansas City Zoo. The whole family went: Great-Grandma, Aunt Mary, Dennis and Janet, Mindy, Brad, and Emily. It was a great day to be at the zoo. The weather was wonderful and my kids were excellent (not even one potty accident! horray!). We saw many animals up close when they were resting close to the fence, or walking around. My favorite was the polar bear - right as we came into the zoo gate, the polar bear exhibit was right there, and the huge polar bear was swimming laps. It would get in the water, swim right up to the glass, push off the glass, get out of the water, and then walk around and get in again. It was very intertaining. Brad's favorite was the lions, which were laying in the sun right in front of the glass window so we could see them very close. Also, we walked by the hippo exhibit right as both hippos were going under the walkway bridge (where we were walking). I had never seen hippos so closely, and Brad was just stunned. Great-Grandma loved seeing all the animals also. I believe everyone had a good time. It really was a great day at the zoo!
I love this picture with me and my kiddos!
Brad is up on Grandpa Scott's shoulders to check out the elephants.
Emily was an angel the whole day. She was so content and would just eat, sleep, and look around. It made the day so much fun!
Cheetah Exhibit - there were two, and they walked around the big open grass and laid down. Beautiful animals!
Grandma Scott was a great sport and carried Emily for a while, to give my back a break. The umbrella worked great to keep the sun off Emily's face.
Bradley and I infront of the Giraffes, Zebras, and Rhinos! Brad loves animals and he was very mesmerized.
We got to take a train ride around part of the zoo, and since trains of one of Brad's favorites, he was as content as can be!
Family shot: We had a great time together at the zoo!
