Pumpkin Carving Party!
We love to carve pumpkins! Almost every year we host some kind of pumpkin carving party to celebrate Halloween, the Fall season, and enjoy carving pumpkins. This year, we invited all our neighbors in our complex. In the middle of our apartment complex, there is a big grass area, so we invited everyone to come out and carve pumpkins together. The party was held just a week before Halloween because in Iowa with all the humidity, carved pumpkins get moldy and old so quickly, and we were hoping that ours would last for Halloween night. The weather was perfect, and many of our neighbors showed up to enjoy the party. We provided cookies and apple cider, and then set up a table (for those who wanted to paint or carve on the table), and plastic tarps (because the grass was wet from the rain the night before). It turned out to be a great party with our friends and neighbors.
Family picture! Emily just hung out. I carried her for part of the party, and then she just rolled around on the tarp. It was so nice for an October afternoon and we had a blast.
Brad totally got in on the action this year. He and Jon cleaned out the pumpkins to get ready to carve. Brad got his own spoon and everything.
Here are some pictures of our neighbors. We were really surprised at how many people paint their pumpkins because we had never thought of doing that, but they looked great and the kids had fun!
